Internship
Internship- Internships can offer a valuable experience to a student’s life. They will be able to see firsthand how their education plays a role in the real world. Based on the student’s major and student’s specifications their internship will be an immersion of the entire program. Students will engage in various activities including group therapy, case management, administrative duties, special events, community engagement, networking, mentoring, educational and career training services, etc. Students obtaining a BSW, MSW, or MFT will carry their own caseload.
Resident Manager Volunteer
Resident Manager Volunteer- RM’s volunteers provide support to the staff and residents of the shelter, they assist residents with basic needs during intake, crisis intervention, assistance with paperwork, assistance during special events and more.
Special Projects Volunteer
Special Projects Volunteer- SPV's provide assistance with fundraisers, table events and holiday events. SPV’s can also provide any skills that they feel will enhance a resident’s well-being. Examples are yoga, cooking class, budgeting, beauty and spa, educational services, sewing and craft making.
Host a Fundraiser
Host A Fundraiser- Hosting your own fundraising event for House of Psalms 23 makes a huge difference in the lives of the clients we serve. The time and dedication that you put into creating an event that supports our mission is extremely appreciated..
Mandatory Volunteer Training
Mandatory Volunteer Training- All volunteers must complete a waiver form and receive at least one 8-hour shift of training at House of Psalms 23. It is critical that volunteers providing service to victims of violence or sexual abuse have a basic foundation of abuse, interaction, boundaries, and confidentiality.
