SJ Sok is a 2018 graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations. Currently, Mx. Sok serves as the Director of Advocacy at Vera House, Inc., where they lead the advocacy department and oversee emergency services. Prior to this role, Mx. Sok was the Centralized Arraignment Program Coordinator for Onondaga County’s Assigned Counsel Program, where they successfully piloted a centralized arraignment program that became a model for statewide implementation. With a career rooted in human services, Mx. Sok has extensive experience in both legal and social services sectors, focusing on supervising and managing teams dedicated to providing direct client services. They are highly skilled in training, facilitation, and streamlining systems to enhance service delivery and improve outcomes for those in need.
